PCC Welding Gets New Building, Named NC3's "School on the Rise"

Pratt CC Welding has a new home! PCC purchased the Pioneer Tank and Steel facility near the airport in Pratt, KS. A lot of time was spent over the summer getting the facility ready and students officially began classes in the new building in the Fall.

In addition to Welding classes, PCC is running a Steel Sales operation out of the facility, with the help of an employee retained from Pioneer Tank and Steel. Pratt Community College is hosting a College Planning Conference on October 26, 2022 from 9am-10:15am at Dennis Lesh Sports Arena.

High school students will have opportunity to meet with numerous colleges and universities to start planning for a college career.

New Student Information Session Returns to PCC

200 students attended the New Student Information Session held inside Dennis Lesh Sports Arena the day before Fall classes began at PCC.

The event is for students who are new to PCC. They are divided up into small groups, led by a Resident Assistant (RA) and a PCC faculty or staff member.

The purpose of NSIS is to extend a welcome to students and give valuable information, such as office locations and services and contact information. They are also welcome to ask questions.

PCC Partners with Barton CC for Nursing Program

Pratt CC President Dr. Michael Calvert and Barton CC President Dr. Carl Heilman did an official signing to celebrate the Nursing partnership with BCC to offer the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) program on the Pratt campus starting this fall.

The reception included comments from presidents, trustees and Nursing educators, collectively. Barton educators were also on hand to give tours of the nursing lab facilities.

Move-In Day is Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Students that are new to PCC will move in from 9am-1pm.
Students who are returning to PCC will move in from 1pm-4pm.

Students may bring up to 4 guests to assist with moving into residence halls.

Good Day Kansas Crew Visits EPT Program
July 15, 2022

KSN's Good Day Kansas crew out of Wichita visited the Electrical Power Technology (EPT) facility on campus.

EPT Director Phillip "Dave" Campbell spoke about the new EPT Support Specialist major that trains students on the ground, versus training aloft in the lineman training program. The Support Specialist major gives an overall view and training foundation that could lead to a job in six other occupations in electrical distribution.
