Pratt Community College Automotive Technology faculty members taught automotive clinics for high school girls at three locations for the Spring 2023 semester.
The clinics have taken place in PCC’s Automotive shop on the Pratt campus. PCC’s auto shop at Kingman High School and the South Central Pathways shop in Attica, KS.
A news reporter from KWCH 12 News in Wichita stopped by the shop in Kingman and featured the clinic on their newscast, including hands-on footage and comments from students and an interview with Kingman instructor Tyler Wells.
In total, more than 80 high school students participated in the clinics taught by PCC faculty. They learned basic car maintenance such as changing a tire, checking and changing the oil, jump starting a car, troubleshooting dashboard lights, and knowing what to expect when taking a vehicle for repairs at a dealership.
