Skyline Schools Become Community Partner for the Track and Soccer Complex

Pratt Community College (PCC) and the Management Committee (MC) of the Track and Soccer Complex (TSC) are pleased to announce the addition of USD 438 Skyline Schools as a Community Partner. This milestone means that Skyline Schools will be able to schedule events at the new Track and Soccer Complex located adjacent to the Green Sports Complex in Pratt.

PTK Holds "Pie Your Professor" Fundraiser

PCC’s Phi Theta Kappa organization held a “Pie Your Professor” fundraiser on campus, open to students, faculty and staff.

PTK Sponsor Jason Ratcliffe organized the event and the faculty candidate volunteers included Jason Ghumm, Stephanie Wiese, Quintin Powell, Roy Clark and Jerry Thompson.

Coin and bill donations were accepted into the jars located in the Linda Hunt Memorial Library to elect the “winners”, and nearly $100 was collected by the end of the competition, consisting mostly of coins.

Student Life Plans Holiday Hayride for Students at Lemon Park

It was one last hurrah for Student Life activities to close out the semester. Ag Power instructor Ralph Williams and student Rhett Sanford volunteered to run the hayride for PCC students to see the Christmas lights at Lemon Park for the "Student Life Sleighs Christmas" event.

Students enjoyed a nice soup dinner on campus before heading to the park, and returned to campus to warm back up with Christmas themed treats.

PCC Hosts Tech Day and Gives Away $500 Scholarship

Aaaand we're back! PCC hosted Tech Day on campus at PCC and it was a big success!

Reported program favorites from participants: checking out Automotive's race car, "dressing for the future" in EPT lineman gear and the firing up of the big noise machinery in Ag Power.

Potential students got to meet with faculty and students who are currently enrolled at PCC and participate in an Q&A session. Pratt Community College President Dr. Michael Calvert also gave an overview of life at PCC.

Environmental Science Class Partners with KDWP on Ecology Project

Dave “Kip” Chambers’ Environmental Science class, in collaboration with biologists from Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks (KDWP), participated in a field trip to Lemon Park this Fall to evaluate the ecological interiority of a short stretch of the South Fork Ninnescah River. 

Students had an opportunity to assess the biological communities of the river by sampling fish, using electroshocking techniques and collecting macroinvertebrates using dip nets.

PCC Holding Auditions for the Wizard of Oz
November 19, 2021

Pratt Community College is holding auditions for The Wizard of Oz! The show runs in March, and is the Royal Shakespeare Company version that follows the movie. There are parts for all ages! Parts will include singing and reading.

Auditions are being held on campus in Carpenter Auditorium on December 7 and 8 at 7pm.

The Wizard of Oz show will take place April 1-3, 2022 and rehearsals will start in January!
