CREDIT BY EXAMINATION
Students whose prior education and experience has allowed them to attain knowledge and proficiency equivalent to that ordinarily attained by enrollment in a college course may apply for credit by examination from Pratt Community College. The college’s credit by examination procedure must be completed including payment of the examination fee. Courses with required lab, clinical, or field work are not eligible for credit by examination. Students who pass the examination may petition to have a “P” grade entered on their transcript upon payment of tuition for the course (refer to 400-02 Grading System Policy for explanation of “P: grade), The college determines the appropriate examination.
It is important to note, upon transferring to a four-year institution, a P may be converted to the letter grade of C, which would potentially have a negative impact on the cumulative GPA. Students are encouraged to review Transfer Policies to determine how P grades will be transcribed upon transfer.
