Philip (Dave) Campbell is the Director of the Electrical Power Technology (EPT) program at PCC. He is revered by students training to be linemen for his standards in teaching the craft, safety and work ethic.
He is well-known throughout the industry, as is the EPT program at PCC.
Campbell was invited by T&D Powerskills to be a presenter, alongside Sales Director Jerry Havens, at the T&D Powerskills Training Conference in New Orleans, March 2022. The topic is College Lineworker Programs - How to Serve Your Community.
Havens proudly made the invitation to Campbell, given his years of experience in the industry training students, and familiarity with the training material.
“First of all, we just love the guy! At Pratt, Dave and his team use the T&D PowerSkills materials to not only train student lineworkers, but also to improve the safety and training in the community that PCC serves. The knowledge that Dave and PCC have gained since incorporating the T&D PowerSkills program into the school’s curriculum and its outreach will be invaluable to attendees of the 2nd annual Trainers Conference in March 2022. Dave can highlight how PCC has built a program with a cohesive training message.”
The curriculum has also been instrumental in helping Campbell grow the EPT program at PCC.
“We have used the T&D Power Skills curriculum for many years now. It has been instrumental in pushing our Line worker program across the State into our four locations, all using the same T&D (Transmission & Distribution) training units, which gives our program continuity. Jerry Havens is very familiar to our students as he is the narrator in a great many of the video training units.”
Campbell also serves as one of 11 members of the User’s Development Board, a body responsible for guiding the development and update schedule of the T&D PowerSkills training program.
Registration details for the T&D Powerskills Training Conference are forthcoming, and will be shared as they become available.
