The Wrestling team at Pratt Community College has had one heck of a season.
After winning the KJCCC Regional Championship for the first time this year, the team traveled to Council Bluffs, IA for the NJCAA National Championships.
Fellow students, faculty and staff watched the matches throughout the day on campus in Beaver Bites café and makeshift viewing rooms set up in classrooms.
The Pratt Beavers wrestling team placed 4th in the nation.
The NJCAA National Championship results are as follows:
NJCAA National Champion, 125 lb category
- Michael Spangler
Runners up in their respective weight categories
- Jason Henschel
- Jacob Beeson
- Dayton Porsch
Athletes earning All-American status
- Devon Dawson
- Jacob Mitchell
- Deston Miller
They are outstanding on the mat, and in the classroom.
PCC Wrestling Coach Ken Kepley also accepted a team award at nationals on behalf of the Pratt Beavers for Academic Team of the Year.
