Track and Soccer Complex (TSC) Management Committee Releases Letter to the Pratt Community Regarding New Facility Funding, Construction and Use
The Track and Soccer Complex (TSC) Management Committee (MC) is comprised of representatives from Pratt Community College and the City of Pratt, appointed by the stakeholders of the TSC.
The funding, creation, management and ongoing maintenance of the TSC is a project of great complexity and magnitude, with several moving parts. This joint statement was created for the purpose of disseminating accurate information to the community regarding the TSC.
The letter will be sent to members of the Pratt community via US Mail, inside July 2021 utility bills from the City of Pratt. The letter is also available for viewing, in its entirety, on the Pratt Community College website and social media channels.
The TSC MC members include: Pratt Recreation Director Larry Eisenhower, Pratt City Mayor Gary Schmidt, Pratt City Manager Bruce Pinkall, Pratt City Commissioner Zach Deeds, Pratt Community College President Dr. Michael Calvert and Pratt Community College Athletic Director Tim Swartzendruber.
Pratt Community College President Dr. Michael Calvert, along with the other TSC MC members, welcome further inquiries from the public regarding its newest community treasure:
“The Management Committee of the new Track and Soccer Complex felt that the Pratt Community needed additional information on how this facility came to be, so this flyer was produced. This has always been a community facility that was constructed for community use as long as we had community partners to help offset not only the cost of construction, but ongoing needs as well. As the primary fund-raiser for the construction, the facility is the home soccer field and track Pratt Community College athletics. With the facility built on city owned land, the Pratt Recreation Program schedules the complex when not in use by the college, and the general public is able to enjoy using the facility when otherwise not in use. I especially want to highlight the fact that over 40% of the funds raised to date have come from outside of Pratt County. We are excited to be a part of a great community facility. As the flyer states, through collaboration and cost sharing, we have created something great; another treasure for Pratt!”
