PCC Disciplinary Representative
Violations of a more serious nature shall be heard by Pratt Community College's designated representative governing disciplinary matters – the Vice President of Students and Enrollment Management. The following sanctions shall be imposed relative to the specific violations and frequency of offense:

  • Reprimand (written)
  • Probation (conduct/social)
  • Suspension
  • Expulsion

If a situation is deemed to be of an emergency nature, the Board of Trustees, Administration, faculty, staff, college security officer, or other college authority may ask outside legal authorities to intervene and immediately remove an individual from the campus, if said individual has exhibited behavior regarded as dangerous to self or others. The college's designated representative governing disciplinary matters shall hear the case and make appropriate sanctions at the earliest opportunity.

Note: Any sanction imposed by the college does not preclude outside legal involvement.

Unless otherwise specified by the college's designated representative governing disciplinary matters, all sanctions shall be terminated at the end of the semester in which they were imposed. One exception to the rule would involve expulsion, in which the individual would not be allowed to return to Pratt Community College. Another might involve more serious violations occurring late in the semester. In this case, sanctions may be extended into part or all of the next semester.

In addition to specific sanctions, regardless of category, restitution shall be assessed whenever damage to property or a monetary loss has occurred.

Student Violations and Sanctions
Students shall be responsible for the knowledge of the college rules and regulations as set forth in the college student handbook. The student handbook is available on the college website at www.prattcc.edu. In addition to the college rules and regulations, the student handbook also includes information about student conduct, due process and grievance procedures. Students who willfully violate college standards must expect to face disciplinary action on the part of the institution.
