Military Leave

A full-time regular employee who leaves a position for extended compulsory active duty in the military service of the United States during a state of war or national emergency, or for periods of required military training, shall be granted a military leave without pay for the duration of the commitment in accordance with the terms of applicable laws.

A returning veteran shall be entitled to return to his or her original position or another position for which the College considered him or her qualified in accordance with the terms of applicable laws.

A returning veteran will be reinstated at the same rate of pay he or she would have received had employment been uninterrupted. Military service shall not be considered a break of service and shall be counted toward seniority at the College.

A regular full-time employee who is a member of a reserve component of the military service may be granted leave with pay for the purpose of attending annual active duty training. Maximum military training leave is twelve (12) working days in any calendar year. Such leave will not be counted as part of the employee’s annual vacation leave.
