General Description and Purpose
The Coordinator of the High School College Start Program will oversee the development, implementation, and management of Pratt Community College's High School College Start Program, which allows high school students to take college-level courses for credit. This position will work closely with local high school counselors, administrators, students, and faculty to ensure a smooth and successful program experience. The coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions.
Primary Functions/Responsibilities
Program Management & Development
1. Coordinate all aspects of the High School College Start Program, including student recruitment, enrollment, assist with course scheduling, and communication with high school partners.
2. Work closely with high school counselors and administrators to promote the program and facilitate student registration and course placement.
3. Ensure all program offerings align with college policies and academic standards, and ensure that students have appropriate support and guidance throughout their enrollment.
4. Serve as the primary point of contact for high school students, parents, and school staff involved in the program.
Student Support & Advising
1. Develop and lead orientation sessions for new College Start students, introducing them to college policies, resources, and expectations to ensure a smooth transition into the program.
2. Provide academic advising and support to high school students in the College Start Program, ensuring they understand program requirements, expectations and various resources.
3. Stay informed about EduKan advising and be prepared to assist students as needed.
4. Help students navigate college resources, including tutoring, library services, and other student success programs.
5. Monitor student progress and provide guidance on academic and personal challenges that may arise during their participation in the program.
Collaboration & Relationship Building
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with local high schools, faculty, and staff to ensure smooth collaboration and communication.
2. Organize and lead regular meetings with high school administrators and teachers to discuss program updates, student performance, and curriculum alignment.
3. Represent the College Start Program at high school and community events, including recruitment and informational sessions.
Program Evaluation & Improvement
1. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program through student feedback, academic performance, and retention rates.
2. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement based on evaluation data.
3. Prepare and submit regular reports on program progress, outcomes, and suggestions for future improvements.
Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
1. Ensure all students in the program meet eligibility requirements and complete necessary paperwork, including consent forms, registration forms, and FERPA compliance.
2. Track and maintain accurate records of student enrollment and share weekly enrollment reports with the high school counselors.
3. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations regarding dual enrollment and high school students in college courses.
4. Assist with the development of marketing materials and promotional campaigns to increase program awareness and participation.
Coordination and Accountability Tasks
1. Maintain regular contact with the Director of Admissions, Student Success, Registrar’s Office and Office of Instruction.
2. Collaborate with other PCC staff and instructors as needed.
3. Participate in staff development, in-service training, committee assignments, and educational advancement on a regular basis or as directed.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and the Vice President of Student Services.

Experience
Preferred candidates will have prior experience in higher education, high school teaching/advising, or student services. A minimum of two years of experience working with high school or college students is required, ideally in an advisory, teaching or mentorship capacity. Experience handling confidential student records and adhering to privacy regulations, such as FERPA, is strongly preferred.
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Education, Higher Education Leadership, School Counseling, or a related field is required (master’s degree preferred).
Work Conditions/Environment
This position is primarily based on campus in an office setting. Periodic travel to service-area high schools is required. Candidates must be able to travel independently. Occasional evening hours may be required for parent meetings and conferences.
