General Description and Purpose
Pratt Community College is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an adjunct EKG Technician instructor for our Allied Health programs. The adjunct instructor will be responsible for teaching EKG technology, interpretation, and procedures to students in an online classroom and an in- person laboratory setting.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training to students on EKG technology and procedures
- Provide instruction on EKG interpretation, rhythm analysis, and patient care
- Create and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and progress
- Offer individualized instruction and support to students as needed
- Collaborate with program faculty and staff to ensure curriculum alignment and program success
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in EKG technology
Coordination and Accountability Tasks:
- Collaborate in tandem with Director of Allied Health to ensure that goals and assigned tasks are communicated and adhered to.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and other Characteristics
- In-depth understanding of EKG technology, procedures, and interpretation
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and terminology
- Familiarity with common heart rhythms and abnormalities
- Understanding of patient care and safety protocols in relation to EKG procedures
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in EKG technology Skills
- Proficient in performing EKG procedures accurately and efficiently
- Skilled in interpreting EKG rhythms and recognizing abnormalities
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex information to students
- Ability to create engaging and informative instructional materials
- Excellent organizational skills to plan and deliver effective lessons Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate EKG procedures and techniques effectively
- Capacity to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and support to students
- Strong problem-solving skills to address student questions and challenges

Educational Requirements
- Must have an EKG Technician Certification with a minimum of 2 years of experience working as an EKG Technician -OR-
- A degree in a related field with 2 years of experience interpreting EKGs
