The U.S. Department of Education Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act (CRRSAA): Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) – Student Aid is available to provide funds in the form of emergency financial aid grants to students who have been impacted financially by the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
The 2021 COVID-19 Relief Fund (HEERF II & III) has been created to assist students with covering any component of the student’s cost of attendance (COA); or emergency costs that arise due to Coronavirus, such as but not limited to tuition, food, housing, health care, mental health care, or child care. Pratt Community College (PCC) is required to prioritize grants to students demonstrating exceptional financial need.
 
You must meet the following requirements to qualify:

  • Currently enrolled in Fall 2021 term, with 3 or more credit hours

Application Process:

HEERF II Student Emergency Grant Applications will be accepted by completing the “Emergency Assistance Application”. The application is available through our eCentral portal. https://etcentral.prattcc.edu/
               
When the application is submitted a decision will be made based on available funding and the eligibility criteria.  All eligible applications will be considered and the grants funds will be awarded on a first come, first served bases until the funding is exhausted.
 


The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act signed into law on March 27, 2020, created education stabilization funds available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF).

Pratt Community College has received $1,969,442 for Institutional needs and $1,500,385 for students in total from the CARES Act and $70,488 HEERF- Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) funds added.

PCC students must meet the following eligibility requirements to receive CARES Act funding:

  • Enrolled on/after September 15, 2021 for Fall 2021 students. 
  • Experienced expenses related to the disruption of any component of the student's cost of attendance (COA); or
  • Emergency costs that arise due to Coronivarus, such as but not limited to tuition, food, housing, heath care, mental health care, or child care.

The intent of emergency grant assistance is to support students experiencing temporary financial hardship. Funds are limited and not intended to provide ongoing relief.

At PCC, we acknowledge that we have signed and returned the CARES Act certification and agreement form. We also acknowledge that we are using these funds to provide the mandated amount of emergency financial aid grants to our students until funds are exhausted.
