Pratt Community College’s ‘Roam the Dome’ & Academic Olympics Inspire Students

Pratt Community College recently hosted its inaugural "Roam the Dome" event alongside the annual Academic Olympics, and both were a resounding success! The campus buzzed with energy as over 500 students from 18 south-central high schools gathered to showcase their intellectual curiosity and scholastic talent.

A special round of applause goes to the PCC admissions team, whose professionalism and enthusiasm brought the event to life. One of the highlights was the announcement of Jacob R. as the recipient of the Roam the Dome Scholarship, recognizing his outstanding participation. (Pictured Below)

The Academic Olympics featured a dynamic range of competitions across subjects such as mathematics, science, literature, and the arts, offering students an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Participants took on rigorous individual and team challenges, solving complex problems and answering thought-provoking questions.

Adding a hands-on element to the competition, students tested their engineering prowess in creative challenges like the popsicle bridge competition and the egg drop contest, where they applied physics and critical thinking to real-world scenarios.

The atmosphere was electric with excitement, determination, and a shared passion for learning. Beyond the thrill of competition, the event fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration, reinforcing the values of teamwork and lifelong learning.

With such a successful launch, Roam the Dome and the Academic Olympics have set a new standard for celebrating academic excellence at PCC, leaving students inspired and eager for next year’s competition.
