Pratt Community College Celebrates Successful Grand Opening of Electric Power Tech Center
Pratt, KS— Pratt Community College proudly commemorated the grand opening of its new academic building, Electric Power Tech Center, on October 30, 2024. The event brought together students, faculty, local dignitaries, and community members to celebrate this significant milestone in the college's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities.
The ceremony featured inspiring speeches by Dr. Calvert, Senator Jerry Moran, Board of Trustee Vice Chair Dean Fitzsimmons, and EPT Director Dave Campbell, who emphasized the new facility's importance in fostering academic excellence and innovation. Attendees enjoyed guided tours of the building, which showcased its modern classrooms, collaborative workspaces, and advanced laboratories.
"This building represents our vision for the future of education," said Dr. Calvert. "We are excited to provide our students with an environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning."
This hands-on program covers essential topics such as power generation, distribution, and management, equipping students with the skills needed for a successful career in the energy sector. Through classroom instruction and practical lab work, students will learn about electrical safety, circuitry, and the latest advancements in sustainable energy technologies. Our experienced instructors provide personalized guidance, ensuring each student gains the knowledge and confidence to excel in this fast-growing field.
The celebration concluded with refreshments and opportunities for attendees to engage with faculty and learn more about the programs offered within the new space.
