Powe, the top-ranked competitor in his weight class, was joined by heavyweight James Bankston, ranked No. 2 at 285 pounds, and Johnny Cash Thomas, ranked No. 7 at 157 pounds. Both Bankston and Thomas battled their way to seventh-place finishes, cementing their status among the nation’s best.
