
Dr. Jason Ratcliffe to Lead Pacific War Lecture and Discussion Series at Pratt Community College in September
Pratt, KS — August 13, 2025 — Pratt Community College (PCC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Jason Ratcliffe, professor of history and political science, will lead a special lecture and discussion series focused on the Pacific War this September. The series is part of PCC’s ongoing commitment to providing enriching educational opportunities to both students and the broader community.
The series will explore key events, military strategies, and human experiences of the conflict that spanned the Pacific Theater during World War II. Dr. Ratcliffe will guide participants through critical battles, political dynamics, and the war’s lasting impact on international relations.
The lecture series will be held weekly throughout the month of September and is open to the public. Each session will include a presentation by Dr. Ratcliffe followed by an open discussion, encouraging audience participation and critical reflection.
Dr. Ratcliffe has been a member of the PCC faculty since 2020 and is known for his dynamic teaching style and deep expertise in both Western and Asian history. Fluent in several Filipino languages and an active researcher, he brings a unique global perspective to his work.
The event series is free of charge and will be hosted in the Riney Student Center (across from the PCC baseball field), rooms 312-314 on Tuesdays from 7p-8:30p. This series is part of PCC’s broader mission to foster lifelong learning and community engagement through accessible, high-quality educational programming.
