Wildlife Outfitting & Operations
Wildlife Outfitting & Operations Programs
The Wildlife Outfitting & Operations (WOO) program at Pratt Community College offers a unique, hands-on learning experience for students interested in careers in the rapidly growing commercial hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation industry. Students in the program learn a range of techniques, from beginning to advanced, in hunting, guiding, and land management while pursuing an associate’s degree. Being located in prime whitetail, waterfowl and upland country, many WOO students are able to find employment for outfitters while completing their education.
Sophomore students participate in backcountry excursions to public lands across various states, focusing on “learning-by-doing” through navigating tag allocation systems, e-scouting, and backcountry camping essentials. This immersive approach ensures graduates are not only knowledgeable in theory but also highly proficient in the field, ready to excel in real-world outdoor operations.
