All students must take the ACCUPLACER test, or an alternative such as the ACT or SAT, before enrolling. You may take the test at the Student Success Center in room 55 on the main campus.
Prior to taking the test you may want to review the scores needed for classes at PCC.
You may want to take a practice test or review math, English and/or reading before you take the test. You can do so here - https://accuplacerpractice.collegeboard.org/login.
Call (620) 450-2156 to schedule a testing time.
If it is more convenient for you, you may take a ACCUPLACER test (or suitable alternative) at a community college or university near you. Email the Student Success Center (ssc@prattcc.edu) to determine exactly which tests you need and/or to confirm a suitable alternative test.
Course Prerequisites
Some courses at all accredited colleges and universities have prerequisites - required course or test scores that much be achieved prior to enrollment in course. For instance, Accounting II has a prerequisite of Accounting I and Physical Science has a math prerequisite.
At PCC, all English and math courses, except entry level courses, have required prior course completion or score on a placement test. All courses with prerequisites are noted in the course description. You can look at the course description in Self-Service by clicking on the course number.
Completing a prerequisite course with a grade of C or better qualifies the student to advance to the next higher course. Successful course completion supersedes the need for the ACT or ACCUPLACER test.
If you have questions, ask your academic advisor or contact the Student Success Center at (620) 450-2156.
