Students wishing to transfer credit for evaluation to Pratt Community College must submit an official college transcript to the Registrar’s Office. All transfer credit will be evaluated in the semester hour system and must be received from a college or university accredited by a regional agency recognized by PCC. All credits earned with a grade of “D” or higher will be transferred. Zero level courses will not be applied towards degree requirements.
Technical credits completed at post-secondary technical schools or technical colleges will be evaluated to determine transferability into an Associate of Applied Science degree.
Students may earn college credit for education experiences in the armed services. Credit is awarded based on the recommendations in the American Council on Education Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services and in consultation with the department. Students must submit appropriate military records to the Registrar’s Office for evaluation.
Up to thirty (30) credit hours may be earned through the Credit for Prior Learning process. Individuals who have extensive documented training outside the traditional academic setting may have training documents evaluated. Regular tuition will be charged for transcription of the credits identified.
The college accepts College Board Advance Placement courses. The student is required to have an official College Board Score Report submitted from the College Board to the Registrar’s Office. AP Courses will be posted on the student’s transcript at no additional cost to the student pending initial PCC enrollment and provided the score is 3 (qualified) or better on AP’s 50-point scale. Credit hours will correspond to the PCC equivalent course (see chart in the Student Handbook). Approved transfer credit will be listed on the student’s official transcript. The granting of this credit by PCC does not guarantee transferability to any other institution.
