Pratt Community College to Bring Collegiate Rodeo Back to Pratt This Fall

After more than a decade, collegiate rodeo returns to Pratt as Pratt Community College (PCC) hosts a three-day event October 8-10, 2026, at Huffman Arena on campus. Bringing the rodeo back is a big moment for the college, the community, and rodeo fans in the region. As part of the tough Central Plains Region, this event will attract top athletes to compete in Pratt.

 

“The number one question we’ve heard from the community over the years has been, ‘When is the rodeo coming back?’ We’re excited to finally say that collegiate rodeo is returning to Pratt this fall with upgraded and improved facilities ready to welcome competitors and fans alike.” – Jake Ritz, Head Coach, PCC Rodeo Team

 

During the three-day event, athletes from the Central Plains Region will compete in events like bareback riding, calf roping, bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, goat tying, and more. They will be aiming for a spot at the College National Finals Rodeo in June 2027. The Pratt rodeo is one of ten events that lead up to the national finals. The event is expected to boost Pratt’s economy. Hundreds of athletes, coaches, families, and fans will visit, bringing more business to local hotels, restaurants, shops, and community partners. “College rodeos can have a tremendous impact on local communities, drawing close to 900 visitors over three days and supporting local businesses throughout the weekend.” – Ritz.

 

This rodeo gives Pratt the chance to see top-level college competition from over 19 competing schools and cheer on the PCC Rodeo Team as they compete at home for the first time in more than ten years. This weekend will celebrate rodeo, community, and Beaver pride. Come fill the stands, cheer for the Beavers, and join in the excitement.
