Pratt Community College was excited to host a group of state-wide high school students today for an immersive campus visit dedicated to exploring opportunities in technical education. The visit gave students an in-depth look at various programs designed to prepare them for careers in high-demand technical fields.
Students participated in hands-on workshops and toured state-of-the-art facilities, including an Electrical Power outdoor classroom, welding, and automotive shop. Faculty members and current students were on hand to provide insights into career pathways such as Computer Science, CNA, and Lineman, highlighting the range of careers they could pursue with technical skills.
The visit aimed to expose high school students to the growing opportunities in technical education and how community college programs can lead to rewarding, high-paying careers. "We are dedicated to empowering the next generation of skilled professionals," said Dr. Tina Doggett, Dean of Technical Education. "Today's visit was a great opportunity to show high school students the many pathways available, both through further education and directly into the workforce."
This event reflects Pratt CC's commitment to workforce development and community engagement and its partnerships with local high schools to strengthen career readiness. The college plans to continue hosting events that inspire young people to explore and pursue technical education pathways.
