PCC Wrestling Hog Roast Draws 302 Supporters for a Day of Gratitude
The annual gathering brings together alums, fans, community members, youth wrestlers, and the future of Beaver Wrestling.

PRATT, Kan. (Oct. 19, 2026) — More than 300 people attended the Pratt Community College Wrestling Hog Roast on Saturday, Oct. 17. The night centered on one idea: thanking the people who help make the program successful on and off the mat throughout the year.

The Hog Roast is the second half of the annual Jog-A-Thon & Hog Roast fundraiser, which PCC Wrestling has been running for the past 15 years. The weekend began Friday morning, October 16th, with the PCC wrestlers leaving Novotny Hall at 5:15 am for the 7.5-mile Jog-A-Thon. This activity is part of their conditioning and training for the season and shows they are working for the support they receive.

This year, the Hog Roast returned to campus in the Riney Student Center Cafeteria, with support from Great Western Dining and the PCC Board of Trustees. As a thank you to the campus, fans, families, alums, recruits, and the community, it was free for all attendees. The crowd included PCC alums, longtime fans, community members, the Pratt Wrestling Club, and recruits and their families, getting their first real glimpse of what it’s like to be a PCC wrestler.

For PCC athletes, the event offered a break from preparing for the 2026-2027 wrestling season. For the program, it was a chance to thank the donors and supporters who show up for PCC Wrestling year after year.

“The Hog Roast was a success,” said PCC Head Wrestling Coach Ken Kepley. “It is a great weekend to just relax from training and show appreciation to all of our donors and supporters. This event is not about us; it is about everyone that supports our program and helps us stay successful at an elite level.”

Supporters who couldn’t attend in person could still get involved through the raffle and silent auction. The funds raised over the weekend go towards the program’s annual fundraising campaign.

The continued success of this fundraising event clearly shows the strong bond PCC Wrestling has with the Pratt community. It’s not just the young athletes of the Pratt Wrestling Club; it’s the alums who come back to see the next generation.
