PCC Female Athlete of The Year – Clara Ortlieb, Freshman
Published on: May 5, 2026
For Clara Ortlieb, being named Pratt Community College’s Athlete of the Year is both an honor and a reflection of her dedication. The recognition represents more than her performance on the field, it speaks to the discipline and work ethic she has consistently demonstrated both athletically and academically. For Ortlieb, the award is a proud moment and a reminder that her commitment has not gone unnoticed.
Ortlieb’s journey in soccer began at just five years old, driven by a natural love for the game. Over time, that passion has been strengthened by her parents’ steady support. While always encouraging, they never placed pressure on her, allowing her passion to grow authentically. Even now, as she competes in another country, their support remains a constant source of motivation.
This past season brought a number of memorable experiences, including a favorite moment during the team’s fall overnight trip to Colorado. Beyond competition, Ortlieb values the strong sense of connection within her team. She emphasizes that soccer is built on unity, where success depends on every player working together. Her teammates have become close friends, creating a supportive and enjoyable environment both on and off the field.
“Clara had an incredible freshman year at PCC. She stands out as a leader both on the field and in the classroom. Clara is disciplined in her studies and in soccer. Her teammates know they can count on her in any situation. I look forward to seeing what she accomplishes as a sophomore.” – Brandon Jackson, Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Looking ahead, Ortlieb plans to transfer to a four-year university, where she will continue competing at a high level while pursuing her academic goals. She offers simple but impactful advice to future Beaver Athletes: “Enjoy the game, work hard, and stay focused.” For Ortlieb, finding joy in the sport is the foundation for success.
