PCC Celebrates Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month—a time to celebrate hands-on learning that helps students turn their interests into meaningful, in-demand careers. Pratt Community College is proud to showcase the outstanding CTE opportunities available to our students and community. Career and Technical Education plays a vital role in meeting workforce needs across Kansas and the region. At PCC, CTE programs combine real-world experience, industry-recognized credentials, and practical skills employers are looking for.

With strong partnerships, modern equipment, and dedicated faculty, PCC students gain a solid, career-ready foundation from day one. PCC proudly offers the following CTE programs:

  • Agriculture
  • Allied Health
  • Automotive Technology
  • Business and Accounting (BAT)
  • Commercial Driver’s License Program (CDL)
  • Electrical Powerline Technology (EPT)
  • Information Networking Technology
  • Welding Technology
  • Wildlife Outfitting and Operations (WOO)

Across these programs, students learn by doing—through lab work, hands-on shop training, clinical experiences, and fieldwork alongside industry professionals.

Why CTE Matters

Career and Technical Education is about more than learning a trade, it’s about building pathways to long-term success.

CTE graduates often benefit from:

  • Higher job placement rates
  • Lower student loan debt
  • Valuable certifications and hands-on experience
  • Meaningful connections with local and regional employers

PCC is committed to supporting students as they enter the workforce or continue their education with confidence, purpose, and clear goals.

Celebrating Our Students and Instructors

Throughout February, PCC will recognize outstanding CTE students, instructors, and programs on campus and social media. PCC invites the community to join in celebrating the dedication, talent, and hard work that make these programs such a success.
