Medicine Lodge Students Explore Work-Based Learning at PCC

22 March 2022

Medicine Lodge Junior High 8th grade students traveled to Pratt Community College to pilot a Work Based Learning Project.

Students started out in the gym with introductions from Mr. David Schmidt, PCC’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator who explained the day’s agenda and shared information about work-based learning, career and technical education, and pathways certification.

Students were introduced to PCC instructors and divided into career clusters which included Allied Health, Agriculture, Welding, Auto, INT, and Business Management.

Based on their individual interests as determined by their career interest inventory conducted as part of their Individual Plan of Study, each student attended two of these career and technical programs.

Students finished the day with a question and answer session and a meal provided by the PCC cafeteria.
