PCC Wrestlers Land Top Placements at Nationals

The Wrestling team at Pratt Community College has had one heck of a season.

After winning the KJCCC Regional Championship for the first time this year, the team traveled to Council Bluffs, IA for the NJCAA National Championships.

Fellow students, faculty and staff watched the matches throughout the day on campus in Beaver Bites café and makeshift viewing rooms set up in classrooms.

The Pratt Beavers wrestling team placed 4th in the nation.

Men's and Women's Tennis Returning to PCC

Pratt Community College has annonuced that tennis will be reinstated as an officially sanctioned sport in the Fall of 2021. 

PCC President Dr. Michael Calvert is excited to to bring back tennis and notes the strong Kansas area programs that will support recruiting efforts, and financial support that has been pledged to supplement operations and fund scholarships.

Pratt Community College will be holding a Special Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Riney Student Center Room 312, to discuss / action on certificates of participation. Social distancing and masks will be required.

PCC Instructors Hold “No Boys Allowed” Automotive Clinic

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the percentage of women in the automotive repair and maintenance industry is 9.9% as of 2019.

Not to be discouraged, Automotive Technology instructors from Pratt Community College got together at the CTE facility at Kingman High School to host a clinic specifically for female students.

Freshman, sophomore, junior and senior girls from Kingman and Norwich high schools signed their names to a “No Boys Allowed in the Shop” sign-in sheet and rotated to different vehicle stations.

PCC President Dr. Michael Calvert wishes to release the following statement to answer any questions that may arise regarding the possibility of vaccine requirements for students or employees that return for the 2021-2022 school year.

PCC Cheer Team Places 2nd at Nationals in Daytona, FL

The PCC cheerleading squad just brought home one of the prestigious awards in the program’s history.

PCC placed 2nd overall in the Intermediate Small Coed Open Division in Daytona, FL with a total performance score of 92.31.

PCC Cheer coach Shae Napier was walking to lunch with her student athletes when she received the score sheets from day one prelims, before finals. They placed in the top three, next to a prestigious school with a long-time winning record.
