Each year, one of Pratt Community College’s instructors is recognized by the Pratt Higher Education Association for being an outstanding instructor.

This year, the PHEA Teacher of the Year was awarded to automotive technology instructor, Greg Bacon.

“Thank you for this recognition, it’s very humbling,” said Bacon. “I was not expecting to be chosen given every single candidate is more than deserving to be named Teacher of the Year.”

Bacon has worked at PCC for 19 years and has been a teacher for 17 of those years. He is an instructor in the Automotive Technology program and one of the shooting sports coaches.

“We’ve been making progress to expand the auto program to Kingman,” said Bacon.

During his time at PCC he has seen the automotive program expand to three total locations. Those locations include the Pratt Campus, the South-Central Career Pathways Center in Attica and the recently added Kingman location.

“I learned from many of you,” said Bacon. “So to be chosen by some of the people I respect the most is truly an honor. Thank you.”
