Boy Scouts Earn Programming Merit Badges at PCC

11 Boy Scouts earned their Programming Merit Badges through the Information Networking Technology department at Pratt Community College over the weekend.

To meet the requirements for the Programming Merit Badge on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America, the scouts were required to code in three languages. They coded in Arduino, Python and Visual Basic. They also studied the history of programming, career options and education pathways.

PCC’s Encore vocal group performed two socially distanced shows for family members on Sunday, February 12, 2021.

The Annual Valentine’s Show was originally scheduled for the weekend prior, but was postponed due to frigid temps and projected weather.

Instead of the traditional dinner and show, two much smaller audiences were treated to music and laughs at The Front Porch in Pratt.

Phi Theta Kappa Exceeds Goals for Annual Blood Drive

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society held its annual Blood Drive in partnership with the Red Cross February 3, 2021 at the Pratt Community Center.

PTK's goal was to collect 29 units of blood. A total of 36 units were collected, and 37 of the 38 possible time slots were filled.

A lot of extra helping hands came out to support the PTK Blood Drive from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the PCC Women's Soccer team and PCC's Men's Basketball team.

PCC's Virtual Tech Week Set for February 22-26

Tech Day is a popular event on the Pratt Community College campus for high school students wanting more information about PCC's award winning hands-on technical programs.

This year, PCC is going online for a Virtual Tech Week. Two programs will be featured each evening from February 22-26 starting at 6:30pm.
Those that register and join the sessions get a chance at a $500 scholarship and PCC Gear.
