Women's Soccer Competes in Outdoor Tournaments
The Pratt Community College women’s soccer team competed in two 6v6-style outdoor tournaments on April 12 and 13 as part of their off season training.
On Saturday, the team played at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. Pratt defeated Tabor College 5-4, fell to Southwestern Oklahoma College 8-5, and also fell to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, 5-4.
"The team played well and some individual efforts were quite impressive," said Head Coach Jerrid Schicke. "All and all, goalkeeping was the difference as Pratt was using third string goalkeepers due to injuries. Offensively, it was an outstanding day for our girls."
On Sunday, the team traveled to McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. Pratt was defeated by McPherson 4-1, Emporia State 8-4, and Garden City Community College 5-2.
"Weary legs from Saturdays competition seemed to hinder the team from having the strength needed to outlast opponents," said Schicke. "Competition was strong and the team performed well considering shifting winds and rapidly decreasing temperatures throughout the day."
The team will play for the last time this spring on April 23 at Central Christian College in McPherson.
