People of PCC - Shania Hansen

"Archery is kind of my passion. I like to shoot my bow. I like to be outside and getting people to enjoy the outdoors. That’s why I am in the Wildlife and Outfitting Operations program and that’s why I am thinking about outdoor education after this. I don’t really have a full on dream job, I just want to work somewhere in the outdoor industry with women and maybe kids. I was involved with 4H shooting sports back home growing up. I was a 4H shooting sport state ambassador, however I aged out before I could go on to be a national ambassador.

WOO students gain hands-on experience

Pratt Community College’s Wildlife Outfitting & Operations sophomores recently traveled to Cedar Bluff Reservoir, in northwest Kansas, to put what they learned in the classroom to use.

The four sophomores and Luke Laha, WOO instructor, corralled geese that were on a pond by the wildlife area office into a pin so that they could pull the geese’s primary feathers and band them.
