Region VI First Round

Pratt Community College Volleyball season is officially over. Pratt traveled to Hutchinson yesterday to play the first round of the region tournament against conference foe, Cloud County Community College. While set 1 and 2 started out trading points. Pratt was unable to hold on to either set dropping 21-25 and 22-25. Set three Pratt jumped out to a 16-10 lead, but was unable to control their errors. Pratt lost the third set 18-25.

Pratt Community College Volleyball finished the season 22-11. Marina Hansen, freshman, was named to the KJCCC West All-Conference selection.

Volleyball Defeated by Hutchinson

Pratt Community College volleyball traveled to Hutchinson Community College on Oct. 22 to face the Blue Dragons. PCC got down early in set one but was able to make a run to get back into the game. However, they were unable to finish the set. PCC lost set one 18-25.

Set two was quite a thriller, and PCC and Hutch traded point for point until the 22-22 mark when Hutch’s aggressive serving took a toll on Pratt. Pratt dropped the set 22-25.

PCC Volleyball Defeats Dodge City 3-1

Pratt Community College Volleyball started out very strong last night in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena against Dodge City Community College. They handily took care of set one 25-11 and offensively had outstanding attacking at .423 as a team.

That momentum was lost in set two, as Pratt committed 19 errors to lose the set 22-25.

Fortunately, Pratt was able to take set three, 25-22. They then were able to end the match after set four defeating Dodge 25-14.

PCC Volleyball Tied for Second in Conference

Pratt Community College has played seven matches over the past week and compiled a 5-2 record in a short period of time.

Last week, PCC faced Garden City Community College on Sept. 29, and was able to utilize their aggressive serving and defense to sweep the match in three sets. They defeated Garden City 25-22, 25-15 and 25-20.

On Oct. 1, PCC ventured to Seward and was handed their third conference loss of the season. PCC was unable to get any offense started as Seward dominated the stat sheet from every angle. PCC lost the match 20-25, 16-25 and 21-25.
