The Pratt Men’s Wrestling Team has just been named 2013-2014 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for the second year in a row. This means that the team had the highest cumulative GPA of any community college men’s wrestling team in the nation with a 3.12.
Dennis Lesh Sports arena was electric last night during the conference matchup between Pratt Community College and Seward County Community College. Both teams wore pink to raise breast cancer awareness, and pink t-shirts were sold to the crowd for the Side-Out Foundation.
Although Side-Out’s Dig Pink events began as volleyball specific events, and are now supported by middle and high school and college students nationwide. All proceeds benefit grants to medical research organizations and entities dedicated to providing support to breast cancer patients and their families.
PCC volleyball traveled to Hutchinson Community College on Oct. 22 to face the Blue Dragons. PCC got down early in set one but was able to make a run to get back into the game. However, they were unable to finish the set. PCC lost set one 18-25.
Set two was quite a thriller, and PCC and Hutch traded point for point until the 22-22 mark when Hutch’s aggressive serving took a toll on Pratt. Pratt dropped the set 22-25.
