PCC Athletics, Peer Educators team up to host Pink Out event

Pratt Community College Athletics and Peer Educators group are teaming up to host a breast cancer awareness “Pink Out” during the volleyball matches against Friends University JV on Oct. 15. All fans and spectators who attend the games wearing pink will be allowed free entrance to the matches.

Pink ribbons, breast cancer information, giveaways and gifts for those who donate will be available to those who come to cheer on the Beavers. Other exciting activities are scheduled to provide a wide variety of entertainment throughout the night.

PCC Renovates the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena Court

There is a new look on the floor of the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena on the campus of Pratt Community College. On Monday July 31, PCC unveiled a new design on the playing surface in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena, also known as the Beaver Dome. After two weeks of sanding, staining, and painting, the court has a fresh new look to enhance the Pratt Community College volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and wrestling programs.

Pratt Community College Director of Athletics Bill Wilson announced the launch of a new athletics website gobeaversports.com. The website will serve as the new home of Beaver Athletics. PCC has partnered with Presto Sports, one of the leaders in collegiate athletic web solutions. The website, which includes an enhanced new look and adaptive design, will feature news, stats, photos and other information on PCC’s 12 intercollegiate sports.

Pywell and Konrade earn All-Conference honors

Two athletes from the Women's Volleyball team, were recognized with All-Conference honors this week from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, as the conference named their All-Conference teams.

Earning nomination for Second Team All-Conference was Kylee Pywell, sophomore from Plainville, Kan. Pywell, an Outside Hitter, made the team for the first time of her collegiate career.

Earning Honorable Mention from the KJCCC was Darian Konrade, freshman from Ashland, Kan. Konrade, also an Outside Hitter, was also nominated to the All-Conference team for the first time.

Volleyball loses to Hutchinson 3-2

After a slow start and a very one-sided 25 - 10 score in favor of the home team Dragons of Hutchinson Community College, the Lady Beavers came back to win a 30 - 28 thriller in set two. Another a few missed chances to take the lead in set three, the Lady Beavers ended with a 25 - 15 loss to the Dragons.
