Performing arts students take annual trip to Tennessee

Instructors, students and supporters of the Pratt Community College Performing Arts department took their annual end-of-year trip as the school year came to an end. This is the fifth year the department has organized this trip for students to Tennessee and surrounding areas for a week of music, entertainment, service and fun.

Twenty-five students and 8 adults, including PCC staff and supporters of the program, traveled from Pratt to Missouri and on to Tennessee making different stops along the way and doing what they do best, performing.

System-Wide Reverse Transfer Now in Kansas

(Topeka, Kansas) - "Recognizing reverse transfer as an important element of a seamless educational system, Kansas state universities, community colleges, technical colleges, Washburn University and Washburn Institute of Technology, agree to work together to develop a process to assist students to complete coursework for and attain all certificates and degrees for which they are eligible," was the opening statement of a document signed by all 32 public postsecondary institution presidents.

Performing Arts students travel to Tennessee

On May 10, 16 members of the Performing Arts Department left Pratt and headed to Tennessee to celebrate another successful semester. The group met with PCC graduate Kellye Pritchett Huesman in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., before enjoying Dolly Parton's Dollywood. The group spent the next few days enjoying the entertainment there before exploring the Smoky Mountains and the Gatlinburg Aquarium. Next, the PCC students performed the pre-show at the Country Tonite Show in Pigeon Forge and at Graceland in Memphis.
