PCC WOO Student receives Kansas Farm Bureau Scholarship

Pratt Community College (PCC) Wildlife Outfitting and Operations (WOO) student, Caleb Hinck, has been awarded a Kansas Farm Bureau's (KFB) Foundation for Agriculture scholarship. College students that are attending a Kansas college with a Kansas Farm Bureau Collegiate Chapter and are a collegiate chapter member studying in a field that benefits agriculture and rural Kansas are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

"This scholarship helps out a lot, I won't have to go get a second job to pay for college," said Hinck. "It helps out a lot more."

PCC Sophomore Receives Kappa Beta Delta Scholarship

Pratt Community College (PCC) sophomore, Isaac Root, has been awarded a Kappa Beta Delta scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic school year. The purpose of Kappa Beta Delta is to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business pursuing associate degrees. To encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.

Sophomore sees success on eSports team

Pratt Community College Sophomore, Luke Hurt, has been with the eSports team for the past two years. In that time, Hurt, has seen his team accomplish an undefeated season through hours of practice, dedication and comradery.
                  
eSports is a form of competitive sports played online against people around the world. Multiple games such as League of Legends and Hearthstone are played, allowing all types of people to compete. PCC’s eSports team launched Fall 2017 and are currently competitive members of the Collegiate StarLeague (CSL).
 

PTK students honored at 2020 Kansas Academic Team luncheon

Two Pratt Community College students joined their peers when Kansas saluted the community college scholars for their academic accomplishments March 12 in Topeka, Kan. Representing the state's 19 community colleges, a private college, and a technical college, these scholars were named to the 2020 All-Kansas Academic Team.
 
The event was sponsored by the international headquarters of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees and the Kansas Council of Community College Presidents.
 

Ag Power Freshman signs work contract upon graduation

Pratt Community College Freshmen Mitchell Becker, Agriculture Power Technology student, has signed a three year contract with Prairieland Partners upon completion of the program.

Becker grew up in Conway Springs, Kan. and says he has always had a knack for mechanics. He heard about the program from multiple sources including his friends and his brother, and decided to join the PCC program.

Ag student combines passion for agriculture and computers to set his career path

A Pratt Community College student combines two passions to make his own career pathway. PCC Sophomore, Pake Sipes grew up in Stafford, Kan., which Sipes describes as a small agricultural community. Growing up in an agriculture community sparked Sipes interest to attend Pratt Community College and study Agribusiness. He chose to attend PCC because it is close to home, but yet he still has the chance to live on campus.

“I like the class sizes, and the information is interesting,” said Sipes.
