Biddy Basketball Hall of Fame Inducts PCC Athletic Director Kurt McAfee

Pratt Community College Athletic Director Kurt McAfee was inducted into the Biddy Basketball Hall of Fame on March 26. The induction ceremony was held in KGSO Radio Studios in Wichita, Kan. and McAfee’s induction was carried live on KGSO Radio.

Softball Splits Double Header with Garden City

On March 17, the Pratt Community College Beavers took on Garden City Community College in a double header.

In the first game, Garden City CC grabbed the early lead, 1-0, in the top of the third. A single by Nelson, bringing home Cerrato started the inning off.

Beaver Softball Falls to Dodge City

Despite Cassie Kelly's 2-4 performance at the plate on March 9, the Beavers took a 13-5 loss at the hands of Dodge City. Two of the Beavers' runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Kelly. She homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning. Fern Garcia was charged with the loss. She allowed nine runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.

Softball and N.O.Tonkawa Trade Wins

The Beavers get first win of early season thanks to late double, playing Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa at Pratt with a final score of 8-3.

The Beavers and N.O. Tonkawa traded the lead four times on Feb. 27, but Pratt ended up on top in seven innings. The Beavers finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. The Beavers went up for good on a three-run double by Summer Snyder scoring Cassie Kelly, Peyton Jones and Stephanie Seewer.

Kelly racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Beavers. She doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
