PCC Second in the Nation in Community College Shooting Sports

March 24-29,  the  Pratt Community College Shooting Sports team traveled to the National Collegiate Clay Target Championship in San Antonio, Texas to compete against 76 teams from all over the nation and placed second out of the 10  two-year schools that attended.

Aggressive persons, active killers, and other hostile situations repeatedly affect our communities and institutions. There is a history of conflict in our schools, businesses, and other public areas. People continue to learn lessons from these events, and find it necessary to put an active exercise program in place to ensure that we are prepared for these events.

Skyline Creates PCC Presidential Award

On Jan. 8, Skyline Schools presented six students with the Pratt Community College Presidential Award as part of a special awards assembly. The students awarded were seventh graders Brock Montgomery, Scott Ewing and Riley Washington, and eighth graders Gracie Bricker, Gabriel Flanders and Adison Hampton. 

K-8 Principal Becca Flowers said the two schools wanted to create an award which would challenge and recognize students based on a rubric of criteria for successful students. 

Filmmaker Shares Reflection of Life, Work in Western Kansas

On Oct. 21, filmmaker Patrick Clement visited Pratt Community College to take part in a brown bag lunch and discussion of his film "Somewhere Between Freedom and Protection, Kansas." The lunch was attended by middle school, high school, college students, and PCC faculty and staff.
 

Moss recipient of 26th Boyd Davies Executive-in-Residence

On March 11, Pratt Community College will honor Lou Lynne Moss as the 26th Boyd Davies Executive-in-Residence.

Moss established The Flower Shoppe in 1977 at 106 South Main St. in Pratt. The shop then moved to 209 East 4th in in 1982 and currently is at 201 East 4th.

“Lou Lynn Moss provides an excellent example of a local business owner who promotes their industry by serving in a leadership roles locally, and at state and national level,” said Junnae Landry, event coordinator.
