Pratt Community College announces their hours for the Summer of 2017.

Summer hours begin Monday, May 22, 2017 and will extend through Friday, July 28, 2017. Operating business hours will be  7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

PCC student receives KDB scholarship

The Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) Honor Society has announced the 2017 recipients of Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Regions Merit Scholarships which includes one Pratt Community College business student.

Sophomore, Tyanna Hughes, was awarded a $500 scholarship which she says she will use next year when she transfers to Central Methodist University in Missouri.

“I was very excited when I found out,” said Hughes. “The scholarship will be a big help next year.”

PCC Hires World Champion as Head Rodeo Coach

This April, Pratt Community College welcomes World Champion Steer Roper Rocky Patterson as the new head coach of the men’s and women’s rodeo program. Patterson stepped in as interim head coach earlier in the semester, and accepted the permanent position after forming good relationships with the current students and seeing potential in the incoming team.

“Rodeo is all I’ve ever known,” said Patterson. “I’m here to help the students every way I can in what is traditionally a very expensive and demanding sport.”

PCC Auto Department to Hold Car Show

On February 23, the Pratt Community College Automotive Department will host their annual Car Show. An assortment of cars of all different makes and models will be on display in the automotive shop from 8 a.m. – noon, and there is no charge for admission. The cars are loaned for the event by community members who have ties to the department.

Students and community members are able to vote on which of the vehicles is their favorite and People’s Choice awards will be given out at the close of the event.

PCC Welcomes New Foundation Director

Ann Ruder is returning to Pratt Community College as the new Foundation Director, and she is on a mission to connect with college students, alumni, and the surrounding community. The Foundation Director is responsible for initiatives related to college funding, grants, scholarships, and alumni engagement.

Ruder's first week on the job included a grant-writing workshop in Haysville, meeting with area banks and attorneys, and preparation for the PCC Student Welcome Picnic in August.
