PCC welcomes the 2018 Miss Kansas pageant

This year, Pratt celebrates 63 years of hosting the Miss Kansas Pageant. Pratt Community College is the longtime provider of the pageant’s unique venue and a major in-kind sponsor. The event, which brings hundreds of people into the community from around the state, has been held on campus for over half of its history in Pratt. The pageant is held in the college’s Dennis Lesh Sport Arena, and contestants spend the week residing in the college residence halls.

EPT students awarded scholarships from ITC Great Plains

On May 1, ITC Great Plains, LLC awarded scholarships to two students currently in the Electrical Power Technology program at Pratt Community College. Students Willie Wilkerson and Brayden Bittel were recognized for their hard work in the program and received the scholarships in front of their peers and instructors.

Kim Goodnight, Regional Manager for Community Affairs at ITC Great Plains, presented the scholarships to the students. This is the sixth year the company has provided scholarships to the EPT students at PCC.

Save the date for the 2018 Annual Scholarship Auction

Save the date! The 30th annual foundation scholarship auction, is set for April 13, 2018 and will be held in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena. Our theme is “Celebrate our Past and Build our Future”.

The auction will be part of other historical celebrations for PCC this year. The college will be marking the 80 year anniversary of the founding of the institution as well as the 50 year anniversary for the dedication of our main campus.

PCC offers tuition assistance for Pratt County Students

Pratt Community College is giving back to the Pratt County community with scholarship dollars and service. The Pratt County High School Senior Grant Scholarship was established by the PCC Board of Trustees. The scholarship provides tuition assistance for all graduating high school seniors who are residents of Pratt County and graduated from Pratt County High School. In addition to the scholarship dollars it also provides community service hours back into Pratt County. This grant is available for the academic term within two years of high school graduation.
 

PCC establishes memorial scholarship fund in honor of Doc Hunter

Pratt Community College and members of the Pratt community have come together to honor William “Bill” Paul  Hunter with a memorial scholarship fund in his name.

Back to the Dam: 2016 Annual Scholarship Auction

Calling all alumni, supporters and friends. Take a trip back in time and join Pratt Community College on Apr. 23 for the annual scholarship auction, a fundraiser that supports the scholarship fund for PCC students. This year the theme is “Back to the Dam” and the evening festivities include dinner, raffles, a silent auction and a live auction.

The event will be held at the Pratt 4-H Center and doors open at 6 p.m.

PCC Celebrates 45 Years of Rodeo

The 2014-2015 school year marks the 45th anniversary of the rodeo program at Pratt Community College. It began in 1969 as an extracurricular club through the efforts of a handful of students and faculty members, and has since become one of the largest programs on campus.

PCC Scholarship Auction a Success

On April 25, the Pratt Community College Foundation hosted the 26th annual scholarship auction. The theme was “Under the Big Top,” and the carnival-inspired evening included dinner, raffles, a live auction with John Hamm, a silent auction and a performance by PCC’s vocal ensemble, Encore!. Altogether, more than 90 items were auctioned off.

According to Kent Adams, Vice President of Finance / Operations, the auction netted $37,597 for student scholarships.

Outstanding Alumnus and Graduating Scholars Honored

On April 26, Pratt Community College honored 2014 Outstanding Alumnus Dr. Shirle Ibeawuchi, the 2014 Presidential Above and Beyond scholars and the 2014 graduating named scholars at a special brunch ceremony. The Presidential Above and Beyond Scholarship is an award given to students who meet academic criteria and demonstrate leadership and community involvement. Named scholars are those students who have received a scholarship from the PCC Foundation that has been designated by an individual donor and named in their honor.
