Encore! Performing Arts Valentines Day concert

To celebrate the weekend of love, come to the Valentine’s Day concert hosted Pratt Community College’s Encore! on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2:30 p.m. in Carpenter Auditorium.

The show will feature love songs from a variety of genres featuring solos, duets and ensembles.

There will be a dessert bar at Intermission hosted by Collegiate Farm Bureau for a free will donation.

The concert is a fundraiser for the students’ trip to Tennessee in May so it does have a $5 suggested donation per person.

Performing Arts showcase held Sept. 28

The Pratt Community College Performing Arts Department is pleased to present its fourth annual Performing Arts Students and Friends Showcase on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m. in Carpenter Auditorium.

The show will feature a variety of students and community members singing, acting and dancing.

There will be a variety of music from opera to pop to country to contemporary Christian to rap. The show should last about an hour and a half. Donations will be taken at the door.

Community choir returns for second year; children added

After adding a community choir for adults to the Pratt Community College music program last year, the music department will offer a children’s choir this year as well.

The groups are for anyone who has an interest in music and both will meet on Monday evenings starting at 6 p.m.

Pratt county schools come together for concert

The Pratt Community College Performing Arts Department will host the County Wide Choral Extravaganza on March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Carpenter Auditorium.

The concert will showcase the musical talents of Pratt county students from PCC and Skyline High School. During the evening, the choirs will sing separately and together, with additional performances by their show choirs.

“It gives all the high school and college students in Pratt County a chance to sing together and create a sense of camaraderie,” said J.J. Rupe, PCC music instructor.

Performing Arts students travel to Tennessee

On May 10, 16 members of the Performing Arts Department left Pratt and headed to Tennessee to celebrate another successful semester. The group met with PCC graduate Kellye Pritchett Huesman in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., before enjoying Dolly Parton's Dollywood. The group spent the next few days enjoying the entertainment there before exploring the Smoky Mountains and the Gatlinburg Aquarium. Next, the PCC students performed the pre-show at the Country Tonite Show in Pigeon Forge and at Graceland in Memphis.
