In the last conference series of the season, the Beavers came up short in all four games against the Barton County Cougars.
On Friday night, the Beavers lost the opening game of the series 9-3. Gaige Webster was 3-5 with two doubles. BJ Dean was 2-3 including a double, and Nolan Rush was 2-4. Tyler Huffstickler took the loss on the mound throwing 5.2 innings. Huffstickler allowed seven runs on five hits, five walks, and six strikeouts.
With the Butler County Grizzlies in town, the Pratt Beavers needed to take a couple of wins in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. After dropping a close game in the opener 2-1, the Beavers bounced back and won the second game 7-1.
Aaron Berenson had two hits and Skylar Dean had two hits and the lone RBI for Pratt in the 2-1 loss. Tyler Huffstickler took the loss allowing two runs in six innings while walking five hitters and he struck out three.
The Pratt Beavers were scheduled to play a nine-inning game with the Mavericks of NOC Tonkawa, but PCC ended the game in the seventh with a score of 13-3.
It was a great day to be a hitter, and each of the players in the Pratt lineup had at least one hit, and five players had multiple hits. Gaige Webster was 4-5 with two doubles and scored three times. Justin Crouch was 2-3 with four RBIs and a home run. Scott Alvarez was 2-4 with a double. BJ Dean was 2-4 with five RBIs and two home runs. Avery Booth was 2-3.
The Beavers were able to end the weekend with a split series after dropping the first two games on April 5 against Colby.
In game one, too many free bases finally caught up with Pratt and they lost the game resulting from a leadoff walk and a PFP error in extra innings. The Beaver offense out-hit the Trojans, but it was just not enough. BJ Dean led the team with two RBIs that game.
The Pratt Community College Beavers played a midweek double header at home with Northern Oklahoma College - Enid on March 25. The Beavers won the first game 7-3 and lost in game two by a score of 5-2.
Scott Alvarez and Skylar Dean had a nice start to the day at the plate in game one, both having two hits. Dean scored twice and Alvarez hit a double and drove in a run. Nearly everyone in the lineup contributed as six of the nine hitters had at least one hit and the same number of hitters scored at least one run.
The Pratt Beavers beat the #18 team in the country on March 22 in Miami, Okla. North Eastern Oklahoma A&M was 10-0 at home going into the day. Two very well played games by both teams made for an exciting day.
