Baseball Falls to NOC-Enid 6-1 and 8-4

Game 1: Beavers 1  Enid 6 Loss (13-20; conf 6-10)
The Pratt Community College Beavers sent freshman Nathan Roth to the mound to start the day against Northern Oklahoma College - Enid.  Big Daddy Roth would only go 4.2 IP striking out one and allowing five  runs (two were earned).  Following Big Daddy was sophomore Colton Glover (Shreveport,  La.) Grandpa, who went 0.2 IP allowing 0 runs.  Coming in after Grandpa was Hayden Brauser who continued his solid freshman campaign by going 1.2 IP allowing 0 runs and 0 walks.

Beaver Signs to be a Beaver

On March 26, Stillwater High School senior Claytin Beaver signed to play baseball for Pratt Community College for the 2015-2016 season. 
Beaver comes in looking to fight his way to being the mainstay behind the plate as he joins a new backstop crew to push the Beavers in the right direction towards winning the Jayhawk West.

“I am excited for next year,” Beaver said.

Beaver signed Thursday morning in the Athletic Hall of Fame in front of his mom, dad, grandfather, and other Beaver catchers.

After coming off a tough sweep at Hutch, Pratt Community College baseball turned to red shirt freshman Kane McCarthy to turn things around on Tuesday versus Garden City.

McCarthy would continue to play his hot hand going 5.0 innings pitched striking out two, walking one, and allowing only two runs. His masterful pitching gave the Beavers exactly what they needed to be successful. McCarthy would allow the Beaver offense to get things going.

Baseball Drops Four to Hutch

The Pratt Community College baseball team traveled to Hutchinson to take on the Blue Dragons in a four-game series this weekend.

Game 1: Beavers 3  Hutch 5 (3-9)
Evan Payne took the mound against Hutch and pitched well.  Some errors and lack of offense led to the Beavers falling in game one.  Payne was able to keep the hitters off balanced and induced quite a few ground balls.  The Beavers just couldn’t muster up the effort to scratch across competitive at bats.
