PCC Hires World Champion as Head Rodeo Coach

29 April 2015

This April, Pratt Community College welcomes World Champion Steer Roper Rocky Patterson as the new head coach of the men’s and women’s rodeo program. Patterson stepped in as interim head coach earlier in the semester, and accepted the permanent position after forming good relationships with the current students and seeing potential in the incoming team.

“Rodeo is all I’ve ever known,” said Patterson. “I’m here to help the students every way I can in what is traditionally a very expensive and demanding sport.”

PCC Seeks Rodeo Coach, Welcomes Former World Champion as Interim

10 March 2015

The Pratt Community College rodeo team is more than two-thirds of the way through the 2014-2015 season, a year that has brought many changes to the program.

The rodeo team is currently seeking a full time men’s and women’s head coach. The coach will organize, instruct and promote the team, as well as recruit for the next year. If the coach has experience in farrier science, they will also take over coordination and instruction of that program. The search is nationwide search and PCC hopes to announce a new coach by the first week of April.

Dorothy Huffman is a resident of Pratt and shared this about her husband Herb Huffman, who was a member of the PCC agriculture faculty and a PCC alumnus himself:
