Pratt Community College announces their hours for the Summer.

Summer hours begin Monday, May 21 and will extend through Friday, July 27. Operating business hours will be  7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Scholarship received in 1957 led Marvin Proctor to lifelong career

One hundred dollars – the amount may seem insignificant to some, but to Marvin Proctor, the $100 scholarship he received to attend Pratt Community College in 1957 would be the start to an education that would provide him a lifelong career with the institution, even if he did not know it at the time.

“You either hated Verneene, or you loved her!”

Verneene Forssberg, former instructor at Pratt Community College, recalls what many students and peers thought in her 38 years of teaching and coaching at the institution.

Forssberg began her journey at PCC in 1968. She and her husband moved to Pratt the previous year, as he was teaching at the middle school and she was preparing to have a baby.

The first words Don Schwartz remembers telling his mother after he arrived in Pratt during the summer of 1966 were less than enthusiastic. Little did he know at the time, his upcoming journey through Pratt and Pratt Community College, known as Pratt Junior College at the time, would be one that would change his life forever.

Elizabeth Bible began her journey at Pratt Community College as a student in the fall of 1954. She attended PCC until she graduated in 1956 with her Associate’s Degree in Art and Business. At the time, she had no idea she would dedicate the next 50 years as an employee of the college.

Former VP of Instruction Jim Stratford reflects on time at Pratt Community College

Before serving as a Pratt Community College business instructor in 1974 then subsequently Vice President of Instruction until 2013, Jim Stratford was a student between the years of 1966 to 1968. During his 38 years as an employee and two as a student, Stratford has seen a lot of different changes with the college.

Stratford’s memories begin with the move to the current campus.
