PCC to Host Financial Aid Education Night

10 April 2014

On April 29, the Financial Aid department at Pratt Community College will host a Financial Aid Education Night from 6 - 8:30 p.m. in the Linda Hunt Memorial Library on the PCC campus.

This informational session is designed to provide new and prospective students with information about how financial aid works, how to apply for aid, and the ins and outs of alternative methods of funding a college education, including scholarships, grants and loans.

"The process of applying to college can be an overwhelming experience and understanding how to apply for federal financial aid can be the most stressful aspect for many people," said event coordinator Chad Shade. "We want to help our students make the dream of going to college a reality."

The night will consist of a presentation by the Financial Aid staff and a question and answer panel with current students discussing how they are paying for school and their experience at Pratt Community College.

Staff members will also be on hand to help attendees fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), schedule a campus visit, and set up their student Self-Service accounts.

Students should bring their Social Security number, federal tax information or tax returns, a W-2 information for themselves and their spouse if married, records of untaxed income, the SSN and tax information of their parents if they are providing parent information, and a driver’s license number if applicable.
