Students Compete in Food Donation Challenge

15 January 2014

In 2013, the PCC Block & Bridle Club initiated a new service project called "The CTE Challenge." This is a competition between groups of career and technical education (CTE) students to see who could collect the most nonperishable food items for the Pratt County Food Bank.

Today, Block and Bridle launched the second annual competition, which will run through Tuesday, Jan. 28. Collection boxes are located around campus and students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to donate food items to their technical program's collection area.

"Last year’s competition was won by the Automotive Technology students with a last minute rush of collections," said Block and Bridle Club sponsor Dr. Bill Hunter. "We are very excited to see who will win this year, and we thank everyone for their support."
