Shooting Sports receives $12,500 to grow endowment

17 January 2013

Thanks to an active and competitive fall semester, the Shooting Sports Club at Pratt Community College has been selected as one of three collegiate teams in the state of Kansas to receive grant funding from the Kansas State Rifle Association Foundation Endowment Grant.

The Shooting Sports Club at PCC was the recipient of a $12,500 grant from the Kansas State Rifle Association Foundation Endowment.

"We are in charge of raising every single dime of our budget," said Greg Bacon, Shooting Sports Coach. "Hopefully in the future (this endowment) will help our club be self sufficient (from the interest drawn off of the grant)."

The grant, which is donated by Midway USA, is given in the form of an endowment which the club can draw five percent from two times per year. Midway USA is one of the largest supporters of both Pratt Community College Shooting Sports, and nation-wide shooting sports clubs in the country.

Midway USA and Friends of the NRA are the largest supporters of Pratt Community College Shooting Sports Club.
