General Education

The idea of General Education is an ancient concept with its roots in the Renaissance. There was the belief that in order to be a productive and emotionally well-rounded citizen, you would need an education that would cover a broad range of subject matter. Although the topics included in the modern General Education curriculum have changed, those initial ideas have not. A very important goal of your education is that you, regardless of your major, will have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to move on to the next level. Whether that is coursework at a university, or immediate entrance into the workforce, a good General Education curriculum will give you the tools you need to enjoy a richer and fuller life.
