Agriculture Power Technology
The Agricultural Power Technology (APT) Program offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree that prepares students for a career as an agricultural technician. With this degree, the graduate has the option of continuing their education to earn a Bachelor's degree at the university of their choice, or go directly into the workforce.
The APT Program consists of classroom and lab courses as well as a paid internship that comprises half the student's degree. This means the student will spend eight weeks on campus and eight weeks working a paid position at the dealership of their choice. The curriculum was designed in cooperation with service technicians using state of the art equipment and experienced faculty. This collaboration ensures that the students receive the highest degree of educational training toward their career pursuit.
Our program is supported by major corporations such as: John Deere, Case/IH, New Holland, Caterpillar and AGCO, with 86 dealerships statewide providing internship options. The APT Program guarantees 100 percent placement for students receiving an Associate of Applied Science Degree. The average starting salary for graduates of our program is $32,000.
