Rodeo Springs Out of Gate

The PCC Rodeo Team got their spring off to a great start at the KSU Rodeo this weekend. Three steer wrestlers and one saddle bronc rider made the short go.

In the steer wrestling event Skylar Myrick took 3rd out of 51 entrants. Along with Myrick, Taylor Hughes and Alex James also qualified for the short go. Hughes split 2 and 3 and placed 4th on two head.

Out of 30 entrants, Chris Vaughan placed 8th in the long go. He qualified for the short go, but was bucked off.

“We looked good out of the gate for the start of spring season,” said Head Coach Doug Janke. “But lookin’ good has never been what rodeo’s about, so we’ll have to see what we can do now that the gate’s open.”
